Wire wrapping and picture taking

As a New Year resolution I wanted to work on a website at Weebly.com but the options are overwhelming. I also need to work on my picture taking skills, outside is ok, but inside and jewelry not so good. I spend my Christmas bonus on beads and wire wrapping materials, see this picture with Pigmee monkees and wire wrapped beads.

What happened since June?

What happened is that I got a new job. Totally unexpected since I was not looking for one.. Thought I would just stay at my job until the house sold and start something creative, never wanting to work in Home Care again. But I like my new job, surprise! I will have to keep working at the creative thing though since hubbie and I got future plans, but until than I will keep pinching myself  and get paychecks. Better paychecks. More money for art supplies :) So I worked on some dog tags. Fun, or as my son says "nifty" and when are you going to sell them. Well, when I have time/energy to take better pictures ofcourse!

Put my things on the scanner, which is not as good as regular photos, but after working on ceilings this weekend I was looking for the easy way out. These are the mod pogdge dimensional magic earrings I mentioned in my post last week, and some other random things I am still working on.

The turtles need work, maybe some painting and more coating. The gel took longer to set
today since it is humid in Philly this weekend.

Getting used to the format

I am trying to get used to this blogging, getting myself a nice diary to speak.

Earrings from my picture creations

So the pictures covered with Magic gel turned out nice and fully cured. I read somewhere that they stay tacky but it is pretty cold in the house again, so maybe that is why they are dry. I wonder if it will change when they get warm or when spring warms up.. But so far so good. Will have to take some pictures coming weekend when I have more time. They are very shiny, maybe I can put them on the scanner.
So I made earrings out of the tree picture pendants. With an attempt to wire wrap, or at least make decent little loops. One earring came out a lot longer than the other so I had to do it again, and I am afraid I mauled the silver colored wire with my little pliers. I know you can protect the tip with some paper tape to prevent the wire from getting beat up and tarnish later on. But I thought this would be quick. Not so, but all done now and I will proudly wear them to work tomorrow. I added some pretty light blue crystals as a dangle from a badly strung bracelet my husband got for me in Taiwan. Contrary to what you might think, he had trouble finding cheap things "made in Taiwan" there. I guess they are all shipped to the rest of the world.
So now I have to re-string the rest of the beads into a necklace.
Tomorrow night I am supposed to go boating on the Schuylkill but it is supposed to rain again. Bummer, we will never get in race shape with all this weather we've been having !
